As a teenager cycling was the only means of personal transport until the age of obtaining a licence to drive. In my case pedal power was for over 30 years replaced by engine power. In 2000 we moved to Harlech in North Wales and to explore the area at a speed greater than walking pace I rediscovered the pleasures of cycling. After initially buying a hybrid bike I progressed to a light-weight touring bicycle and now ride an e-bike. This latest bike makes journeys of >50 miles rides of enjoyment rather than endurance, tackling steep hills and strong headwinds with ease.
