Gill Hoffs
I worked with children with a variety of behavioural problems until I had my son in 2007. Early 2010, I started having weird [usually painless] migraines. I'd always enjoyed reading and writing, but never usually managed to put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, in a manner I liked. However, the migraines seemed to change all that and suddenly I had beginnings, middles and endings and words flowing in my head. My work is widely available online and in print, including "Wild: a collection" (Pure Slush, 2012), "The Sinking of RMS Tayleur: The Lost Story of the 'Victorian Titanic'" (Pen & Sword, 2014, 2015), and "The Lost Story of the William & Mary: The Cowardice of Captain Stinson" (Pen & Sword, 2016). I'm currently researching Victorian shipwrecks for my next books. I don't drink but I'm VERY keen on sweets, so if I look a bit grumpy feel free to offer chocolate (or marzipan or Nutella) and normal service shall soon resume.
