I started this blog a couple of years ago, with a few short stories. I was attempting to write a novel but got stuck along the way, so writing something else gave me some breathing space. The short stories also gave my writing a fresh burst of life. One thing led to another and now here I am in London, having yet another go at my novel, but with the help of Creative Writing MA this time around. I do get stuck from time to time, so I am reviving my blog once again, simply to write about anything that strikes my fancy while living in London. I'm taking a piece of advice from my lecturer, who once gave us a writing assignment where we had to take ourselves out of our comfort zones and write about a place that we had never been to before. I will be challenging myself to do something new, eat somewhere different, experience something with fresh eyes, and write about it. While the novelty of a new place may wear off over time, or the daily routine beat the senses out of ourselves, it might be a good idea to take a step back, breathe, and to be a tourist for a day, even in your own country.
