gardendaze
Some of my earliest memories are of gardening. I remember running ahead of my Dad's reel mower "saving" the Johnny-Jump-Ups from the blades. My first paying job was also in horticulture--at the age of 11 I was deadheading pots of my neighbor's petunias for the princely sum of $1/week! Needless to say, I was bitten by the bug and have been gardening ever since. I've been all organic since 1994 when I discovered I didn't have butterflies. In researching why, I discovered they were very susceptible to pesticides so I chose from that moment on not use any. I now have 29 different kinds. The yard is certified as a wildlife habitat by the state department of environmental protection (#22) and by the National Wildlife Federation (#34,999).
