Eloise is a veterinarian in Sydney, Australia. As a child she grew up with a collection of 'pocket pets', with rats, mice, hermit crabs, a budgie, guinea pigs and a rabbit taking up residence in her room at various times. Eventually she was allowed her own dog and chose the biggest dog she could think of, a big goofy Newfoundland, who loved to 'rescue' people swimming. She currently dotes on her special little geriatric Pomeranian, Duster and a cat called Jimmy who often object to her habit of bringing home stray animals and wildlife. As does her wonderful husband who has banned her from having any more pets. She has two sons who think it is normal for mum to rescue baby birds who have fallen from their nest, a Lorikeet from the swimming pool and hand-raise baby kittens.
