Currently, I teach Developmental Math at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland. I started teaching math in a public high school in 1978. Over the years I have had the opportunity to teach math to students in a K-8 Catholic School and an independent girl's school, as well. My ideas about teaching and learning mathematics have evolved throughout my different teaching experiences and also through the Master's of Mathematics Education program I am completing at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. Teaching has been the best learning experience I could have, but the courses I have taken at Hood have been eye-opening for me also. Now, I better identify with students who struggle to learn math.
