Born in America's baby BOOM! The first son among two sisters and a brother. Italian-American family with grandparents from Calabria (Southern Italy). My parents met in high school and married only a few short years after graduation and a few short months before dad left to the far east with a ticket from "Uncle Sam". Most of the photos I have of dad are taken in Japan or Korea and he looks like he is on a tourist trip! I think the military looked favorably on his college attendance and it afforded him some isolation from any real combat. Meanwhile, mom was pregnant with their first child and preparing a family "nest" in a small city in upstate New York called Utica.
