I am a full-time author, researcher, lecturer. broadcaster, editor, critic and tutor, specialising in astronomy, spaceflight and science fiction. To date I've published 8 books, with a 9th in September 2016, and over 30 short stories, plus over 1240 articles. I was a Curator of Airdrie Observatory for 18.5 years and as Manager of the Glasgow Parks Astronomy Project, I designed and built the first astronomically aligned stone circle in the UK for over 3000 years. Currently I chair the educational charity ACTA SCIO and the Astronomers of the Future Club, meeting in my home town of Troon where I live with my wife Linda.
