I've been a member of the Church for 9 years and involved in teaching of one sort or another for 17 years. How we learn, different methods of teaching and the demands of different teaching contexts are endlessly interesting to me. My background is fairly diverse, and includes many years studying kinesiology and movement pedagogy, art history, literature, feminism, post-structural and film theory. I have a BA in English from the State University of New York and an MFA in film from USC. I was a professional rock climber for ten years. My book The Self-Coached Climber was published in 2006 by Stackpole books.
