My love of photography may very well have started at a young age. According to my mom, a relative came over to visit and I ran to the car to greet her. Before my aunt could even get out of the car, I was there shouting "Take my picture!". Taking pictures has been an obsession for me for nearly 27 years. In high school, I was always seen in the company of my trusted little camera. It would be hidden in the school locker, in a purse or even in my gym bag for tennis practice. It was never far away. After several years of putting up with me and my camera, a friend's mom gave me a book, "The Joy of Photography" by Kodak. Inside, the inscription read: "If you're going to annoy the he** out of us, go get paid." It was the best birthday present and advice I've ever received. It was the beginning of a lifelong passion with creating images. My career began at a one hour photo lab where I learned the printing side of the business. Later, I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where my date approached the photographer telling him my desire to be a photographer. He offered me a job. After nearly a decade of experience with that photographer, it was time for me to venture into my own business. DK Photographic was born. After more than thirteen years in business, hundreds of weddings and engagement sessions, countless families, babies, pregnant mommies and high school seniors, my approach to being your photographer is simple. Create an environment where you're allowed to be yourself and have fun---a lot of fun! This approach allows me to relate to my clients in such a way that I now count many of them as my friends. My enthusiasm about taking pictures is absolutely infectious. I dare you not to have a good time! Thank you for considering dk photographic and I look forward to meeting you. dk a/k/a Donna Keidel
