Daniel Greig Babb
I serve as the Genealogist for the Babb Family Association and am delighted to call myself a 5th generation Texan, though I frequently disagree with the state's politics. I do my best to assemble a master tree for the Babb Family Association that includes roughly 43K people as of May 2024. My Bucket List Item is to record every single Babb Record into the tree and combine it with DNA research to solve the riddle of how each line is or is not connected. If I don't make it, I will die trying! If that comes to pass, I hope to leave a sufficient paper trail for the next person who takes up this cause that they will be able to solve the riddle in their lifetime. I have benefitted immensely from the work of my predecessors. The works of Jean A. Sargent and Ian Henry Babb gave me the courage to put my modern technology spin on their work. They in turn had researchers funneling work to them, many of which will go unknown as time passes by. Both of them left a wealth of information that is contained in roughly 22,000 pages of content. Sadly, Ian did not get to publish his findings and was apparently such an introvert that he might not have been able to bring his research into the light. Thankfully, the work still exists and has been digitized, along with Jean's papers in order that all may benefit as time moves forward. The one thing we need now is more Y-DNA test candidates from England. We have the US lines well mapped, but not enough info on those in England to make the necessary connections. We are two peoples yearning to reconnect!
