These are few things you should know about me.. My Names are Richard David Vladimir Hoffman, I am Originally Serbian, born to a farmer(Vladimir Kostic Hoffman), and a humble, peaceful yet disciplined seamstress(Maryann Duke) both late. I was born on the 10th of April 1953 in the small town of Prijepolje, located in Zlatibor District of Šumadija and Western Serbia Region, during the cold war. I was born to small family of four, I had a sister(Elizabeth Ann Bojana Hoffman) who survived the war, she died 2 years ago..she wasn't married, she was my elder sister. Growing up was fun, sometimes I relieve those memories and it makes me smile. I began my education in Belgrade at Dorćol Elementary School in 1960, graduated in 1968. Going forward, that same Year I was admitted into the First Kragujevac Gymnasium a public secondary school(high school), where I majored in sciences and in 1972 obtained a first professional degree(diploma) after 4 year and subsequently obtained Higher school diploma in 1973. I proceeded to the University Of Belgrade’s medical school in 1976, I obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1982 after 6 years of study. I worked at the university teaching hospital as a Physician for 2 years, after which I was drafted into the army compulsory service in 1984 as a medic, where I served for 3 years. In 1987, I was granted leave of study to further my education, as there was need for more surgeons at this time the war was getting heated. I went back to the University of Belgrade’s Medical school for a (Medical specialty (MD/Spec), and in 1992 I obtained MD/Spec in general surgery. started a career with the world health organization ( W.H.O ), and then in 1999 I proceeded to the David Geffen School of Medicine, at The University of California, Los Angeles(UCLA) where I obtained a Medical PhD.(MD/PhD). Now working as a General Physician. I have served as Urologic Oncology Expert and Robotic Surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital. I’m also chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery in the Department of Urology and Chief of the Division of Robotics in the Department of Urology of the Mount Sinai Hospital. I’m one of the nation’s leading urologic oncologists specializing in robotics…Now back to the World health Organization due to my success and achievement, I have made during the years as a medical surgeon. now in active duty as a chief medic incharge in Kafr Nabudah Syria.. I’m a leader in prostate cancer treatment and Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy and has performed over 7000 robotic prostate surgeries. The major milestones in my career is that I have been able to achieve success although the years.. working as one of the nation’s leading urologic oncologists specializing in robotics and minimally invasive surgery for prostate cancer. I’m very humble preamble, as such I’m quite indebted and appreciative in life. I’m a little bit of a foodie, I love entrees, I’m also a huge coffee lover. In my spare time, I enjoy working around the house, improvements, landscaping, golf, table tennis, soccer and the pool keeps me busy. I am a honest, trustworthy, grounded and an ambitious person.. I am comfortable in jeans or a tie, relaxing night in or out of the town- both work for me.
