Deixter A. Mendez

I wanted to study Medical Technology, but end up studying Library Sciences. This profession have being very rewarding, It has given me the opportunity to reach out to a world incredible full of information. I'am very pleased to teach others where to find the information and evaluate the best resources available in a particular field. Keeping up to date with the latest information is a real challenge with the information explotation and the new technology constinously changing. I also enjoy writing poetry. I love being in contact with the nature. Working as an academic librarian, and teaching have given me great satisfaction and a sense of selffullfillment. I thank the Lord and my family for my acomplishments and hope to continue serving our college community at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. I retired from the University last June 2010. I hope to continue working on this blog for the interest of those interested in marine sciences and related subjects.
