Despite the best efforts of my English Literature professors, I have a taste for everything from classic literature to a racy beach book. On a good day I'm reading something that makes me think hard, laugh, cry or get inspired. On a very good day I'm reading something that does all of the above. And on the best days I’m reading a book that clicks on more than one level - a Russian doll of a book in which there's a story inside the story. Those are the books most treasured by The Attentive Reader - rare, but worth the wait. These books will elicit the designation "The Attentive Reader Will Note" on my blog. I hope they also garner lots of comments and occasional disagreement. But they don't come along often. In the meantime, I say we keep reading and talking about books.
