Florence, Oregon

Judy Fleagle spent 22 years teaching 1st and 2nd grades and 21 years as editor/staff writer with Oregon Coast and Northwest Travel magazines. Since 2009, she has written eight books, of which four are regional and four personal. The regional ones include "Crossings: McCullough's Coastal Bridges," "The Crossings Guide to Oregon's Coastal Spans," "Around Florence," and "The Oregon Coast Guide to the UNEXPECTED!!!." The books that are personal include "Devil Cat and Other Colorful Animals I Have Known," "The Cancer Blog," "Living Life to the Fullest . . . after age 70!," and "Chuck & Jean, the Interesting Years." (Stories of her parents,) Her latest project is 30 books where each book can be read in one sitting for those with short-term memory loss. They have spiral binding, large print, every sentence isolated, text pages alternate with photo pages. The format has been simplified and uncluttered but the text is not dumbed down. Also available where every page in each book is laminated. And this is 15th year to be writing a blog which posts nearly every week.
