Florence

I first became interested in computer science in 1982 when I bought a Commodore VIC20 and the following year, an Apple IIc. Since then I have read everything and I have attended courses that were more or less improvised and organized in the Florence area. Before starting to work, I did however wait a few years, I had more compelling needs such as having fun , in fact I had the experiences of skydiving, caving, free climbing, sailing, trekking, aikido, and above all lots of parties. In 1989 I was hired by the first software house and it took me quite a while to realize that someone paid me to do what I liked, it was totally messed up…I had a kind of sense of guilt for which I “forgot” for example, to claim my expenses, and it wasn’t like I was swimming in gold. After a short while I found myself at home with a good 4 PCs connected together, a continuous experiment and I especially wanted to “intimately” know how interoperability worked among the nodes that made up a network. In 1999, I was co-founder of ThinWeb srl (Ltd.), which was acquired less than two years later by a French company. In 2002 I became a partner in Vivido srl, where I serve to this very day ; in 2007 I was the co-founder of Informa24. In 2010 I joined, as a minority shareholder, a new initiative called GoGoGenius.com a very special e-commerce enterprise. Personally I have always believed in belonging to a tribe whose basic characteristic is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm for research, of whatever type it might be. Of course, the emergence of Web 2.0 has found me sighing that I’m no longer young, but ready to “use it” in an extremely natural way. The only gripe is that my many professional commitments prevent me, at least at the moment, from participating in so many interesting events like BarCamp, but I also work to be able to remedy this limitation too. My main interests are the continuous improvement of business processes and cloud computing; all this is aimed at building a working environment where people have to be able to live in the best of ways. Since 2016 I'm blockchain enthusiast.
