Cinema Wonk

I started with watching Disney movies on the big screen, and the “Channel 8 Morning Movie” on KTUL in Tulsa, Oklahoma during summer vacations. Now it’s Netflix streaming on iPhone, iPad or the nearest computer monitor, visiting the wonderful Circle Cinema in Tulsa, occasional trips to the multiplexes, browsing the DVDs at the library, sometimes a Saturday evening with B.J. Wexler and the OETA Movie Club, maybe even finding a flick worth watching on network TV (like KTUL). In-between: a high-school job at the movie theater (where I once set the popcorn popper on fire); the joys of midnight movies at the University of Kansas in the mid-eighties; and barrels and barrels of popcorn.
