My name is Paul A Antony. I have been interested in the Ancient world since I was a child. Because of this, I have been learning the Ancient Greek language and philosophy for over 10 years. This inexorably led to the pursuit of learning Classical Latin. I am interested in the reception of Ancient Philosophical Ideas and Maxims taken from Greek Tragedy and other ancient sources into the modern world and how they can be used to improve people lives. Drawing from the Greek Tragedians, Plato, Homer, Sappho, and The Stoics such as Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, and Epictetus, as well as recent authors such as Emerson and Thoreau, I hope to show that Ancient Literature can improve our lives and well being through the moral lessons that it teaches.
