Married for 36 years to Dan O'Neill, founder of Mercy Corps (an international relief and development organization), and mother of five: Brittany (30), Brendan (28), Casey (25), Kevyn (22), and Kylie (19). Author of "Starving for Attention", published in 1982, one of the first 1st-person accounts of battling with and overcoming anorexia and bulimia. Creator of The Sammamish Plateau Parent Networking Group (in existence since 1996), and of DATA Week (Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Awareness Week), a week-long program designed to educate middle-school and junior high school aged students, as well as parents, about the consequences of substance use/abuse. Designer of highly successful parent/teacher/counselor education event, "What Works" in 2001, coordinating 14 individual schools and two school districts, featuring a Pulitzer Prize winning author and staff writer from the Washington Post, Laura Sessions Stepp. Have done public speaking, songwriting, served on PTSA Council Special Needs Committee as Secretary (published monthly newsletter) for 5 years, served on Lake Washington School District's ATOD Committee (Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs) for 3 years. Currently owner of Active Transformation, a personal coaching business, after being recently certified as a Transformational Life Coach.
