Brian Laslie
Dr. Brian D. Laslie is Deputy Command Historian, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). He previously served as the Historian, 1st Fighter Wing, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia from December 2009 to August 2012. In 2011, he deployed as the Air Forces Central Command (Forward) Historian, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, from September 2011 to January 2012. It was while deployed that Brian wrote the majority of what would become his first book. After spending 12 hours a day at work, Brian returned to his cramped living quarters where he labored over his manuscript. A 2001 graduate of The Citadel: The Military College of South Carolina and a historian of air power studies, Brian received his Masters degree from Auburn University Montgomery in 2006 and his Doctorate in history from Kansas State University in 2013. His first book The Air Force Way of War: U.S. Tactics and Training after Vietnam (Kentucky, 2015) will be published in the Spring of 2015.
