boo king
As far back as boo king can remember she wrote - in secret diaries kept locked with magic fake-gold keys, plays for the neighborhood kids to act-out against their will, poetry filled with teenage angst scrawled on the backs of album covers, low-brow poetry in leather-bound books hidden in private drawers, letters to God in spiral-bound notebooks, real short stories for kids and their parents, silly poems for parents and their kids, bad country songs to go with her really bad guitar playing, and three novels, with Summer in a Red Mustang with Cookies her first published work. She has spent the last twenty odd years working in Advertising as a Copywriter in Toronto and as a Producer on the West Coast, where she resides with her family, two dogs, clarinet and her Daion guitar. Her passion for the wonderment of life has taken her on many interior journeys. Her curiosity and insatiable appetite to understand life in general, but her’s specifically, has been the impetus for exploration into all things spiritual. It began with the question “who am I?” and progressed to what she believes to be an even more profound question “why am I?” At the heart of these questions was a deep and reverent desire to know God. Not just as some abstract Deity in the sky but intimately, personally, on a first name basis. This journey and desire to know God and why we’re here only brings more questions, more curiosity, more wonderment. It is clearly a life-long pursuit.
