I live in Iowa City, Iowa. In 2007 I retired from the Department of English at the University of Iowa. Currently I work as a hospice volunteer and hospital chaplain and am a layman in the Episcopal Church. My interests are spirituality and religion, contemporary fiction about crime, schools and universities, moral and spiritual values, and friendship and relationships, and also nonfiction, especially British military and naval history.
