Ass or Elbow

"If it's not my ass, it's my elbow" has been my motto since 1997, when I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I later got sober in 2003 and began an entirely different, yet surprisingly, similar journey. Living with Crohn's and addiction has taught me a lot about acceptance, gratitude what it means to truly live one day at a time. Since I'm not sure that I buy the whole "God doesn't give you any more than you can handle" business, "If it's not my ass, it's my elbow" is intended to help me feel less isolated with these illnesses and to hopefully help others feel less alone.
