When i was younger, i wanted everything to neatly resolve into final solutions and held contradictions in an accusatory frame of mind. Things shouldn't contradict. It's either heads or tails. Now, I'm much re-formed. Almost everything resolves into a contradiction and i should be suspicious of things that didn't. But these contradictions carry the seeds of a truth more compelling than its parts examined individually. These are dialectics.- two contradictory poles that symbolically meld to form a truth greater than the sum of its parts. It's basically what Gestalt said about perception. Dialectics are everywhere- two cars dashing into each other. It is for us to figure that if cars travelled in the same directon, travel would be directionless. This is the ideological matrix of the blog- eclectic such dialectics.
