ANTONIA RATHBUN, M.A., A.T.R., LMHC, BCPC is a Master Therapist and Registered Art Therapist. She has over 27 years experience in program development & direct service specializing in neurobehavioral treatment of children with FAS Spectrum Disorders, methamphetamine effects, trauma, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, communication differences, and developmental & genetic differences. She developed the COACHES program for methamphetamine endangered children ages 2-6, and SNAP (Special Needs Adoption Program), the US’s first research & demonstration program for special needs adoptive & kinship families with FAS & other alcohol & drug-related disorders. A seminal contributor to the field of FASD intervention, her art & narrative-based clinical approach informed programs across the US and Canada, including select SAMHSA FAS Centers for Excellence, and the NIDA/NIAAA. She is published in the book “Fantastic Antone Succeeds”, the first solutions-focused book on how to support children and families living with FASD, Hazelden Foundation’s “FAS: Stories of Help & Hope”, and founded the “StarChild Quilt Project for FAS/FAE”, a solutions oriented art therapy intervention for community empowerment which spread through 22 states in the US and 4 provinces in Canada serving indigenious nations in narrative intervention on intergenerational trauma & recovery. She has been in recovery for 30 years, is active in the Deaf & Hearing communities and is living with Meniere’s Disease.
