Instituto de Ingenieria del Conocimiento (IIC - Institute of Knowledge Engineering) is a Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) centre, located at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM) campus. It was created in 1989 by the non-profit Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Ingeniería del Conocimiento (ADIC - Association for the Development of Knowledge Engineering), under the sponsorship of the Spanish Ministry of Industry and several leading Spanish companies. The current members of ADIC are Grupo Santander, IBM España, Gas Natural Fenosa and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
