Althea Thomas
I live and teach in Mesa, AZ, and have lived here most of my life. I earned my Bachelor's of Music Education and Bachelor's of Music Performance from Northern Arizona University in 2005 and have been teaching 5th and 6th grade band in Mesa for 8 years. I am married and have two children, a 4 year-old boy and a 1 year-old girl. I also have three chihuahua mixed dogs at home. In my spare time I play oboe in the Tempe Symphony Orchestra, teach private oboe lessons and am working on my Master's in Educational Technology and certificate in Technology Integration. I have chosen to pursue the Educational Technology degree for three reasons: 1) I can see the direction our society is headed in and technology will only expand from here, 2) I LOVE technology and have a passion for learning and 3) I'd like to be able to support my family better and a higher degree, especially one in technology, will allow me to do that.
