As the tilt and angle of a single blade of grass can describe the trajectory and speed of an entire ecosystem’s prevailing winds, David wants to solve big problems by examining the small details. A statistics and biochemistry double major from Rice University, David’s interests range from finance and bioinformatics to synthetic biology and medicine. Whether genetically engineering yeast to produce ‘biobeer’ or modeling financial market trends, David believes a keen understanding of the fundamental processes can lead to outstanding outcomes. Currently a medical student at UCSF, David believes the beauty of life results in the most rewarding questions.
