I am a single mom. I love the color blue. I love to cook. I love to share my cooking through special times with friends and family, or through teaching, catering, and experimenting. I love reading menus, cookbooks and magazines like most people read novels. My favorite magazine is Southern Living. I enjoy Taste of the South, Cusine, Fine Cooking, Cooking with Paula Deen and I love anything Phyllis Hoffman puts out. She is creative, simple and takes gorgeous pictures....speaking of which...I love photography. I love encouraging and inspiring quotes and put that together with photography and I have another business that I love to promote....but always, always, taking pictures that encourage precious memories for my family. I have a son, Phillip, who is the absolute joy of my life and makes everyday a new and wonderful adventure. His heart is precious and pure and shares his love freely and openly. I hear how much I am loved daily and also how wonderful I am. Of course, I am wonderful...or at least I am buying into the rumor he started about me....wouldn't you? I am a single Mom because a drunk driver took the life of my husband and the father of my son when he was just six weeks old. I am dedicated completely to preserving life through the abstinence of alcohol on the roads of this country. I guess I am more outspoken about this than almost anything in my life. I am a Christian and I believe we as Christians have a responsibility to help make good and influential decisions...my simple philosophy is in short: if you're not there, it can't happen! Please, please join my commitment to give life back to those people we meet along our roads as we travel, having not consumed an alcoholic beverage. Thank you. I have written a book on the subject and about my life. It is called: The Gift. I encourage you to get a copy and read it for yourself and share it with your friends, children and family. It comes with a workbook, so that it can be taught in a home school situation or in a public arena. I thank you ahead of time. I also have written a book about my role as parent in my son's life. It is called Deliberate Choices. I am also writing a cookbook called: A Lil' Blue Cafe Cookbook. You may wonder about the title of my book...it came from a statement my late husband used to make. One Christmas, I received a numerous amounts of blue gifts. My husband said, and it took off with everyone that knew me..."oh honey, it's a lil' blue thing" and from there is was "oh honey, it's another lil blue thing...thus my book and business: "A Lil' Blue Cafe" You can find my web site at www.lilbluecafe.com. hope you enjoy it. It is a work in progress. If you build it, will they come? I hope to see.
